Field synopses

As part of the HuGENet ‘road map for efficient and reliable human genome epidemiology’ published in 2006, investigators were encouraged to produce field synopses for their fields. Field synopses were defined as “succinct summaries of the evidence from genetic epidemiology in a particular field”, designed to provide a systematic overview for a particular disease, trait or gene. An editorial in Nature Genetics and a more recent HuGENet article have repeated the call for the publication of field synopses.

Since 2006, a number of field synopses have been published, some accompanied by online databases presenting up-to-date summaries of the data. A catalogue of known synopses and databases is listed below. If you think we have missed any synopses off this list, please contact us.
